We’re sorry to announce that we won’t be doing any more Soiree gigs in the future. We’ve had 10 glorious years of fun, merriment, silliness, satisfaction, laughter and most of all, MUSIC in all of its forms. At the start, we got together just for fun and not specifically to do gigs. Hopefully, we may revert to this arrangement occasionally. Not that global stardom affected us in any way of course! Things move on and we are all involved in various other musical scenarios. Steve is very busy on his solo projects as a community musician. Hector and Sue will perform as a duo as well as solo activities and other collaborations. We’ve worn serious grooves around the local club, party and festival circuit and hopefully left our mark! You can still see many of our moments of glory (and near misses) from various ‘live’ performances on our YouTube channel and elsewhere on the net.
Thanks to all of you who came along to our gigs – it would have been an empty experience without you. Thanks also for buying the CDs – just about gone. In the meantime, we hope to see you at all of the usual places in the future.
We have no 'Serenading The Moon' CDs left but if you would like a downloadable version please email via email@example.com for a link.
Soiree are Sue Graves, Hector Gilchrist and Steve Poole. They sing a variety of beautiful songs, with fine harmony vocals, harmonica and acoustic guitars. Their aim is to create the warm, relaxing atmosphere of a satisfying musical evening spent with friends. Performing material that is melodic, inspiring, accessible and mostly of a positive bent, Soiree draw widely from the best of contemporary songs, the Tradition and jazz standards, along with the odd tear-jerker and even a bit of dusted down Rock 'n' Roll! Mostly songs you know and a few hidden gems too, including some of their own.
Our aim is to enjoy ourselves in your good company - and hopefully leave you feeling happier afterwards than before. After all, that is the purpose of a good Soiree!
"On the 7 July we were lucky enough to have an evening with Soiree, who are Sue Graves, Hector Gilchrist and Steve Poole. I am delighted to report that they were fantastic. They gave us brilliant songs, stunning voices and fine accompaniment. They blend all these factors together to make a sublime sound that lifts the soul." (Chesham Folk Club)
"Thank you so much for being my guests, I had amazing feedback for your performance and had the most wonderful time talking and listening to you. You three are absolutely brilliant. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!" (Daria Kulesh, Radio Dacorum)
"What a stunningly refreshing night last night! I can't remember when I've enjoyed just sitting and listening quite so much - the three of you make such a wonderful sound" (George Wilson, Woolston & Bursledon Folk Club).
"Dear Hector, I'm still soaking up the joys of last night's performance by Soiree at Chesham. It was a superb evening, the singing and playing were truly great, and I hope the Group is able to return again soon." (Geoff Knowles, Tudor Folk).
